A Thailand power-cord inquiry that does not specify two-pin or three-prong construction rarely supports a comparable quote. Start by separating the interfaces and project inputs.

An inquiry that says only “Saudi BS power cord” does not yet identify a quote-ready finished assembly. Define the interfaces, project inputs, and document-review scope before sampling begins.
An inquiry that says only “Brazil 10A/20A power cord” is rarely detailed enough for an executable quote. A complete input package lets buyer and supplier review the same finished assembly.
“Factory source” is not a purchasing conclusion. For a bulk order, verify who controls the finished assembly, project evidence, sample revision and later changes.
A total quantity is not a complete RFQ. Put the finished assembly, release schedule, packaging, documents and revision status in one request so suppliers can quote the same boundary.
Certification names start a conversation; they do not define a deliverable cord. A shared data pack ties the product identity, market, evidence scope, and revision status to the same assembly.
A pin count or a PSE field in a catalogue does not complete a Japanese-market power-cord specification. Define the equipment's earthing and both cord ends before reviewing the import arrangement and documents.
An Australian supply plug defines only one end of a cord. Separate the plug, appliance connector, cable construction, and Responsible Supplier obligations to create an actionable specification.
C5 and C7 are common appliance connectors, but they differ in mating inlet and protective-earth arrangement. A complete RFQ should define the equipment and the full cord, not only a connector nickname.
“Locking” signals a retention need, not a finished specification. State where retention occurs, the complete mating interfaces, and the installation conditions in the RFQ.
C19/C20 often appears in rack or higher-load equipment RFQs, but a connector designation is not a finished-cord specification. Confirm both ends and the project conditions together.
Public charging networks continue to expand. “AC cable,” “DC cable” and “charging-gun cable” identify a product direction, but they do not replace interface, environment, construction, document and acceptance requirements.
IP44 or IP55 is not a complete waterproof power cord specification. Buyers must also define the market, complete connection, exposure, installation state, cable, and proposed-model documents.
“European power cord” is not a complete specification. Buyers still need the destination market, wall plug, appliance connector, cable requirements, environment, and proposed-model documents.
“90-degree connector” is not a complete specification. Buyers must identify the angled end, cable exit direction, interface combination, and actual installation clearance.
An RFQ that says “BSMI rubber power cord set” usually still lacks the information that makes a quote comparable and buildable. This guide identifies seven items purchasing and engineering teams can confirm first.
A customer asks for “UL,” but the supplier offers ETL. The useful question is not which mark ranks higher—it is whether the standard, model, certification scope, and purchasing specification all match.
A small appliance may be usable while its plug or power cord is the part that fails first. Check the market, appliance-side connection, and nameplate data before asking HSC about a replacement set.
For companies selling into the United States, producing and shipping from Vietnam is more than choosing a different port. The real questions are origin, tariff structure, supply-chain backup, and whether American-market certification remains intact.
The power cord is certified together with the appliance — a wrong plug or an expired certificate holds up the whole shipment. A working guide to plug systems by market, the common connector mistakes, and what changed in 2026.
C13 and C15 look similar, but neither a familiar shape nor a generic “kettle lead” description makes them interchangeable. Start with the inlet, temperature condition, and finished-cord documentation.
A custom harness is rarely just “a cable.” The interfaces, branches, and change requirements need to be stated together. This checklist helps buyers prepare an RFQ that can be reviewed against shared information.
NEMA plugs should not be selected by appearance alone. Start with circuit voltage, current, grounding, and the appliance-end connection.
AWG and mm² both describe conductor size, but neither number alone answers whether a cord is right for an application. This guide identifies the information buyers should verify together.
