Thailand Two-Pin and Three-Prong Power Cord RFQ: 6 Inputs to Add
A Thailand power-cord inquiry that does not specify two-pin or three-prong construction rarely supports a comparable quote. Start by separating the interfaces and project inputs.

Consider a buyer who writes: “Please quote a Thailand power cord.” Without a two-pin or three-prong format, equipment-end interface, and device conditions, the inquiry has not yet defined an assembly that can be made and reviewed. A supplier who selects by habit may have to revise the plug, termination, cable, or packaging after more information arrives.
The first step is to turn a market name into specific interfaces and project conditions. The following inputs help procurement and engineering align; they do not replace applicable rules, certification-body requirements, or project-level judgment.
1. Confirm two-pin or three-prong first
Use photographs, a drawing, a part number, or a physical sample to identify whether the wall-side plug is two-pin or three-prong. Add grounding, cable exit direction, colour, appearance, and packaging requirements. Do not infer the construction from a market name or equipment origin; the final assembly should be confirmed from project information.
HSC’s current catalogue lists a Thailand Two Pin Power Cord and a Thailand Three Prong Power Cord. They are different catalogue records. They can begin the conversation, but they are not finished assemblies that can be substituted without review.
2. Include the equipment-end interface
The equipment end also decides whether a cord can be used. It may be a connector, terminals, bare wire, or a custom termination. Provide photographs, dimensions, pin information, the mating equipment model, or a part number. State whether a sample is an appearance reference, an interface reference, or a valid production basis.
3. Do not leave device conditions to supplier assumptions
Provide the device nameplate data, intended use, and known project conditions, then review them alongside the two-pin or three-prong format and equipment-end connection. Do not supply only one current value or a vague use case and ask the supplier to infer the whole assembly. An open item can be marked “to be confirmed”; it should not be assumed to be covered.
4. Make cable inputs traceable to a drawing or sample
Length reference, core count, cable or jacket requirements, diameter limits, colour, cable exit direction at both ends, and use environment can affect the quote. Include repeated flexing, movement, moisture, heat, or restricted installation space where known. Samples can help, but their revision and intended role must be identified.
5. Read certification fields only on their respective records
The current catalogue record for the two-pin product lists ASTA, SASO, COC, SIRIM, INMETRO, and SII. The three-prong product record lists SABS, TIS, SEV, and CEI. Those fields describe the respective records. They do not transfer to the other construction or to an unconfirmed finished assembly merely because both are Thailand directions.
The responsible project party should confirm which documents need review, which product construction they address, and whether an interface, material, or termination change requires a new scope check.
6. Turn the inquiry into a checkable list
- Two-pin or three-prong wall-side construction, with photograph or drawing and cable exit direction.
- Equipment-end interface, dimensions, pin information, or mating-equipment data.
- Device nameplate data, intended use, and project constraints.
- Length, core count, cable or jacket requirements, diameter, and use environment.
- Current drawing revision, sample status, labels, packaging, and quantity.
- Documents to review, their applicable finished assembly, and the responsible confirmation party.
Start from the Power Cords and Plugs category, then add the real project inputs to the RFQ.
